The Government and Opposition Leonard Schapiro Memorial Lecture
Professor Andrew Gamble (Cambridge) gave the lecture on the first evening of conference in Faraday Lecture Theatre, Swansea University.  His topic was The Western Ideology. The lecture was chaired by Professor Paul Heywood (Nottingham)

58th Annual PSA Conference Plenary Panel
The conference plenary panel was on Iraq and After: Dilemmas of Theory and Practice.  It took place on the second afternoon of conference in the Taliesin Theatre, Swansea University.  The panel was chaired by Professor Jack Spence (Kings, London) and the speakers were:-
Professor Eric Davis (Rutgers) on Taking democracy seriously in Iraq
Professor Anoush Ehteshami (Durham) on Iraq, Iran and the geo-politics of the Middle East
and Professor Gareth Stansfield (Exeter) on Taking conflict seriously in Iraq

Specialist Group Overseas Guest Speakers
A number of distinguished overseas guest speakers contributed to a series of specialist group panels, all of which took place in the James Callaghan Lecture Theatre, Swansea University, during the course of the conference.
Professor Virginia Sapiro (Boston) spoke on Revisiting women, governance and conflict as a guest of the Women and Politics Group
