Marxism Specialist Group
The Marxism Specialist Group was founded in 1983 to promote the study of Marxism, i.e. discussions of the writings
of Marx, Engels and subsequent Marxist authors, and discussion of the possible contribution of a perspective informed
by Marxism to the understanding of political issues. The Group is happy to accept members of any political persuasion,
its only collective commitment being to academic quality.
Each year since its foundation the group has run sessions at the PSA Annual Conference and a one-day Conference in
September.
Our membership list currently numbers 201, although not all of these are active. We have contacts in the USA, Canada,
Argentina, Australia, Germany, Holland and China. The group charges £5 annual subscription, included in which
members get a free copy of that year's Studies. If you wish to join the Marxism Specialist group please send your
