Academic Prizes Review Policy
The PSA Academic Prize Guidelines will be reviewed every three years (or earlier if circumstances require) by the Trustee responsible for the prizes portfolio. Any changes to the Guidelines will be approved at the autumn Executive Committee meeting, and communicated to members thereafter.
- This will include review of the names attached to prizes to ensure they are still relevant/appropriate. This will also be an opportunity to consider any new names that have been suggested for prizes within the above-mentioned three-year period
- Prize names will not change outside of this period (apart from in exceptional circumstances, such as circumstances affecting the reputation of the PSA or withdrawal of permission from a family member)
- Specialist Groups are able to set up their own named prizes outside of this process
- If the PSA Executive is approached by a Specialist Group/member about naming a prize after a member (or non-member), an email will be sent advising them of the above process.
