This panel discussion will assess how far the EU Referendum of 2016 and its ongoing repercussions have exacerbated long standing fractures in the Conservative Party, including between supporters of ‘traditional’ Tory values and more liberal conservatives and whether the party, traditionally regarded as an election winning machine, faces an existential crisis. More widely, it will present an opportunity to consider how the rise in populism across the West has had an ideological impact on conservative and centre-right values and what this means for the future of Conservatism in the UK.
