This competition is a collaboration between the PSA and the UEA (University of East Anglia)

1. By entering the competition, entrants agree to these terms and conditions. Failure to comply with these terms and conditions may result in disqualification. Entries must be in English and submitted according to the description in the application form. With a limit to one entry per student.
2. Employees and immediate family members of employees of the PSA and UEA are not eligible to enter.
3. The competition deadline is 05-02-2020. No responsibility for late, incomplete, corrupt or lost entries will be accepted.
4. Entries will be judged by a panel of judges including representatives from the Political Studies Association, the University of East Anglia and a third party representing the speechwriting community. Details of the judging panel will be available on request.
5. The Winner’s entry will be published on the PSA’s Youtube Channel, the UEA’s website, on the UEA’s broadcast journalism You Tube and possibly on the World Speech Day webpage and distributed by the PSA and UEA for promotional and marketing purposes.
6. The judging panel’s decisions are final, and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
7. The overall winner will be announced at the competition event
8. PSA and the UEA reserve the right to, at their absolute discretion, cancel, suspend, or vary the competition, or any part of it (including these Terms and Conditions), or vary the prize as required by the circumstances.
9. PSA and the UEA reserve the right to disqualify any individual who has not complied with the letter or spirit of these Terms and Conditions. Any failure by PSA or UEA to enforce any provision in these Terms and Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
10. Entrants warrant that their entries are not offensive, defamatory, libellous obscene, indecent, harassing or threatening or otherwise unlawful, and are unique, have not been plagiarised and do not infringe the intellectual property rights or any other rights of a third party.
11. By entering the competition, entrants agree to hold PSA and or the UEA  harmless for any liability, damages or claims for injury or loss to any person or property, relating to, directly or indirectly, participation in this competition, or claims based on publicity rights, third party intellectual property rights, defamation or invasion of privacy.
12. Entrants retain ownership over their entries. By submitting an entry, entrants grant the PSA and UEA a worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive, sub-licensable, royalty-free licence to display, publish, transmit, copy, edit and use the entry in any media, in whole or in part, in any way they see fit.
13. Exclusion of liability: the PSA and UEA are not responsible for (i) any incorrect or inaccurate information used in connection with the competition; or (ii) failures or errors which may occur in the administration of the competition. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the PSA and UEA exclude liability and entrants agree to release and hold harmless the PSA and UEA for any damage, loss, liability or injury to person or property or for any claim arising as a result of your entry into the competition (save in the case of death or personal injury caused by the negligence of PSA or UEA).
14. Any personal data which may be submitted in an entry will be processed by the PSA and UEA in accordance with any applicable data protection legislation and the PSA’s privacy statement (please see below). 
15. These terms and conditions and the competition will be governed by English law and any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
