This panel explores and demonstrates the application of critical discourse analysis to research in interpretive political research. Papers present critical analysis of the politics of energy policy in the UK, of ‘nudge’ economics, of fracking in Romania, and of theoretical discussion of the argumentative turn in critical discourse analysis. In addition to the substantive issues, the panel opens up for discussion the methods and theories of critical discourse analysis and their commensurability with interpretive political science.
