PSA Undergraduate Conference 2017
The Political Studies Association's Annual Undergraduate Research Conference 2017
The PSA's 2017 annual conference for undergraduate students will take place in Glasgow on the campus of Strathclyde University. This event provides a great opportunity for Politics students and those in related subjects who are studying for undergraduate degrees to come together and share their research with like minded peers. This one day event will take place on 13 April 2017.
Undergraduate Politics students from across the UK and abroad are invited to submit papers for panels taking place during the course of that day. The theme of this year's conference is Politics in Interesting Times, which mirrors the main PSA Conference, taking place in Glasgow over preceding days.
Potential themes for exploration by student panellists include Brexit and the future of the EU; the US Presidential Elections and the rise of Donald Trump; populist politics; the limits of globalisation; the continuing repercussions of the 2008 financial crisis, climate change and other topics. We welcome papers from different sub disciplines within Politics including comparative politics; political philosophy; and IR, as well as papers from different methodological traditions.
The Welcome Address will be given by Professor Matthew Flinders, University of Sheffield and Chair of the PSA. The keynote speaker will be Professor John Curtice, a leading British psephologist and Professor of Politics at University of Strathclyde.
The event will run from 10am until 5pm and will take place at the McCance Building, 16 Richmond Street, Glasgow G1 1XQ.
The schedule for the day is available here.
The deadline for submitting proposals has now passed.
Attendees will be charged £10, which goes towards the cost of the day. A buffet lunch will be provided for all attendees. In order to purchase a ticket please click on the 'Book Your Place' tab above. Non PSA members will be asked to register details, which should not take long.
The PSA is offering travel grants for attendees of up to £60 per person on reciept of an application form (please see here). Priority will be given to panelists and those who have travelled the furthest distance to attend. Applications will be reviewed internally at the PSA and submitting an application will not necessarily lead to a travel grant being awarded. Please send all forms back to email@example.com. The deadline for applications is Monday 13 March 2017.
