Our 2027 international annual conference will take place at the University of Hull, from Monday 22 March to Wednesday 24 March 2027.
The PSA’s annual conference is a rewarding, and popular event for those researching, teaching, studying, or practicing politics, political studies, international relations, and related disciplines. Hosting over 200 panels, keynotes, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
Last year’s annual conference attracted over 1000 international academics, students, and professionals. This three-day conference is a unique and valuable opportunity for delegates to share research, exchange ideas, and broaden networks.
PSA27 will take place at the University of Hull campus. The main conference hub and exhibitors will be based in the Middleton Hall University of Hull main conference hub, with sessions and events taking place in adjacent building including Wilberforce, Larkin and Ferens, all on campus and within a very short walking distance from each other.

Paper Proposals (via Oxford Abstracts)
Panel Proposals (via JotForm)
We invite proposals for 15–20 minute paper presentations. Paper abstracts should be submitted via the the Oxford Abstracts submission platform, which is quick and easy to use. If you do not already have an Oxford Abstracts account, you will be prompted to create one before submitting.
The PSA Specialist Groups and the PSA Academic Programme Committee will review all paper proposals. Specialist Groups will have access to submitted abstracts and may use them to develop themed panels. The Academic Programme Committee will review all papers before the draft conference programme is released.
You may submit up to two paper proposals; however, to encourage fairness and accessibility, the same proposal may not be submitted to more than one topic or Specialist Group.

Panel Proposals
Panel proposals should be submitted via JotForm before 5 October 2026. You may submit either paper panels or a roundtable. The Academic Programme Committee will review all proposed panels, and the PSA team will notify all submitters before the draft conference programme is released.

Accommodation, Food & Travel Information
Hull is well located and easily accessible by train, car and has good airport options close by. There will be on-campus accommodation options for delegates, along with hotel options in Hull city centre. Delegates will be expected to arrange their own accommodation and travel.
Delegates will have the option to pre-book a sandwich lunch or access on-campus cafes or shops. Delegates staying on campus may have access to book evening meals on campus too. Complimentary refreshments will be available to delegates throughout the event, including a the Conference Drinks Reception
Information for Delegates
Each day will start at 8:30am, with panels starting at 9:30am and finishing at 5pm. Registration will be in the Examination Schools and will be open each day from 08.30 until 17.00. We encourage all delegates to allow at least 20 minutes for registration. Please see below important information for delegates.
PSA26 Conference Ambassadors will be present and visible across all three venues and throughout the event. They will be wearing white PSA26 T-shirts and PSA umbrellas. They will be on hand to help guide and support delegates. Conference Ambassadors are your first port of call if you require assistance.
Conference Programme and Keynotes
Each day will start at 8:30am, with panels starting at 9:30am and finishing at 5pm. Registration will be open each day. The conference programme includes keynote lectures and discussions, roundtables, workshops, drinks reception, prize ceremony, exhibitors and much more.
