Coalition Government to Post-Brexit: Celebrating a decade and a half of Political Insight

6 – 7pm, Wednesday 18 November 2026

Online webinar

Join us online to celebrate over a decade and a half of the Political Studies Association publication, Political Insight, as we mark the final issue of this much loved magazine.
For this year’s Annual Lecture we are delighted to bring together a panel of academics, researchers and commentators who, over this time, have shared their political expertise and insights to this magazine and with the readers.

Chairing this panel discussion will be award-winning political writer and journalist, and Political Insight editor, Peter Geoghegan. Peter and speakers will take the opportunity to reflect on some of the memorable articles and stories that have been featured over the years; the ones that were good, bad and got away.

You can get a taste of what to expect by reading Peter’s recent blog about his time at the helm of Political Insight.

We are looking forward to an engaging and enjoyable evening of political reflection, repartee and no doubt humour. We hope that you will join us.

Speakers

• Peter Geoghegan, Editor of Political Insight (Chair)
• Anand Menon, Professor of European Politics and Foreign Affairs at King’s College London
• Will Jennings, Associate Dean – Research (Public Policy, Public Opinion, Polling), University of Southampton
• Paula Surridge, Professor of Political Sociology, University of Bristol

This event is generously supported by SAGE. The Annual Lecture will take place online, via Zoom. It will be recorded and there will be an opportunity for audience Q&A.

The PSA Annual Lecture is free and open to all.
