2nd Annual Thatcher Network Conference

Thatcherism Now is the second annual conference of the Thatcher Network.

Join us in the City of Liverpool as we discuss the legacy of Thatcherism after 1990.

This two-day event features keynote talks from Stephen Farrall ("What Happened to Thatcher's Children?") and David Jeffery ("How to Lose Votes and Alienate People"). It also includes a roundtable discussion on Women in Conservative Studies featuring Angelia Wilson and Florence Sutcliffe-Braithwaite.

We are delighted to announce that Lord Michael Heseltine - the former Deputy Prime Minister nicknamed the 'Minister for Merseyside' - will be in conversation with Antony Mullen, the Convenor of the Thatcher Network. This is a public event on Thursday 5th April but admission is included with Thatcherism Now tickets.*

The conference programme also features a range of fascinating and timely panels which analyse Thatcher's legacy, including:

  • Margaret Thatcher and Europe

  • Thatcherism's Literary Legacy

  • Thatcherism and the Archive

  • Margaret Thatcher and Theresa May

Tickets are £30 and are available from the conference's Eventbrite site.

The conference will include lunch, refreshments and a wine reception. Please email the organisers with notice of any dietary requirements after booking. Please note that places are limited.
