PSA Undergraduate Conference 2020

3 April 2020, Edinburgh

CALL FOR PAPERS NOW OPEN

The PSA Undergraduate Conference 2020 is now open for undergraduate students to submit their work. The academic convenors for the conference are Dr Matthew Wood (PSA Trustee) and Dr Sarah Liu (University of Edinburgh).

Conference Theme

'Re-Imagining Politics'

This event provides a space for politics students, from the UK and abroad, and those in related subjects who are studying for undergraduate degrees to come together and share their research whilst exploring the theme 'Re-imagining Politics'.

The conference is also a unique opportunity to hear keynote talks and learn more about what it's like to undertake postgraduate study, research in the field of politics and career options for after your undergraduate degree.

The international liberal order is being challenged by new security threats and domestic nationalist resurgences. Established party systems are disintegrating as trust in representative democracy diminishes. Confronted with a climate emergency, traditional policies of growth and consumption are under increased scrutiny. Ours is also a time of democratic institutional innovation, path-breaking constitutional experiments and vibrant bottom-up practices of inclusive decision-making.

We welcome presentations from different sub disciplines within politics, including comparative politics; political philosophy; and international relations, as well as students interested in qualitative and quantitative research.

Full programme details will be available soon
