Groups, Networks & Experts
The PSA has a network of over fifty specialist groups, providing a research focus for all members; and covering all fields of political science that are dedicated to the promotion of quality research within the profession. Check out our specialist groups here.
All postgraduates and early career researchers (within three years of the completion of their PhD) can join the Political Studies Association at a reduced rate, which includes free Early Career Network (ECN) membership. The ECN exists to promote links amongst postgraduate politics students and early career researchers throughout the UK, via a varied annual programme of events such as workshops and conferences. The Network also provides resources for ECN members and travel grants for enhanced networking opportunities, as well as access to all the latest developments in the field.
The Teaching and Learning Network is a community of practice for academics and higher education teachers, where best practice can be recognised, scholarship and research disseminated, and university teaching supported. All academic and ECN PSA members are automatically affiliated to the Network.
The PSA is working ever closer with schools to help students engage with the subject and understand the benefits of a politics degree. The PSA aims to help ensure that politics taught in our schools stimulates curiosity about the subject, fostering a desire and a determination to study the subject at undergraduate level. In our schools' section we provide the tools to help teachers in their work and pupils develop their passion for the subject. When a teacher joins the PSA the school benefits from the full range of services that we offer.
