2027 IPSA World Congress of Political Science

The 29th IPSA World Congress of Political Science will take place at Luiss Guido Carli in Rome, 24-28 July 2027, under the theme Uncertain Democracies: Rethinking Governance in a Changing Global System. It marks IPSA’s first return to Rome since 1958. Call for Proposals: Open Panels 8 July to 26 August 2026. Closed Panels and Papers 8 July to 4 November 2026 (papers open from 8 September).

IPSA – Karl Deutsch and Mattei Dogan Awards

IPSA is accepting nominations for two awards recognising outstanding scholarship in global politics and comparative political elite studies, carrying prizes of $1,000 and $3,000 USD respectively, plus travel and registration to the IPSA World Congress. Nominations are submitted by national associations, Research Committees, IPSA members, or academic institutions.

IPSA 2027 Awards – Nominations and Applications Now Open

IPSA is accepting nominations for several awards recognising outstanding contributions to political science, with prizes ranging from $750 to $5,000 USD, including the Mattei Dogan, Karl Deutsch, Kim Dae-jung, and Theodore J. Lowi First Book Awards (nomination deadlines 1 November and 16 December 2026), while individual applications for the Guillermo O’Donnell, Margaret A. Vogt, and Stein Rokkan Travel Grant Awards are due by 1 March 2027.

Can Policy Deliver Growth in Every Postcode? – 3 December 2026, London

Participate in research survey on public engagement

Researchers are seeking political scientists to participate in a survey about the barriers researchers face when attempting to communicate with lay audiences about their specific research area, and how those may be similar or different across fields. Political scientists from all career stages (PhD to professor) in any country, who have done some sort of public engagement or outreach in the past 3 years are eligible. Completion time is 10-20 minutes.
