The PSA German Politics Essay Prize

We are delighted to share an exciting opportunity from the German Politics Specialist Group (GPSG). The German Politics Essay Prize is back for another year, offering undergraduate and master’s students studying at UK universities the chance to showcase their work and win book vouchers in recognition of outstanding essays on German politics. Full details on eligibility, submission requirements, and deadlines are below.

International Political Science Abstracts (Trends, 2027 Issues)

The International Political Science Abstracts is seeking authors to write overview articles of 3,500–4,000 words on emerging trends in political science. Topics include misinformation, regime survival, AI and election campaigns, EU and geopolitics, and polarization. Interested scholars should email a CV highlighting relevant expertise to [email protected] by 13 July 2026. First drafts will be expected by 12 October 2026.

IPSA – Karl Deutsch and Mattei Dogan Awards

IPSA is accepting nominations for two awards recognising outstanding scholarship in global politics and comparative political elite studies, carrying prizes of $1,000 and $3,000 USD respectively, plus travel and registration to the IPSA World Congress. Nominations are submitted by national associations, Research Committees, IPSA members, or academic institutions.

Other Opportunities

Participate in research survey on public engagement 

Researchers are seeking political scientists to participate in a survey about the barriers researchers face when attempting to communicate with lay audiences about their specific research area, and how those may be similar or different across fields. Political scientists from all career stages (PhD to professor) in any country, who have done some sort of public engagement or outreach in the past 3 years are eligible. Completion time is 10-20 minutes.
