On 9 June 2016 the PSAs international journal, BJPIR, hosted a public lecture with Professor Jane Mansbridge of Harvard University (Kennedy School) when she came to Edinburgh to receive an honorary degree.

Professor Mansbridge will write the first BJPIR breakthrough article to be published in the journal in 2017. In this new series of articles, the BJPIR invites distinguished scholars to reflect on the impact and debates provoked by a ground-breaking work of political science or IR that they have previously published. Professor Mansbridge’s ‘breakthrough’ BJPIR article will focus on her seminal work on representation, followed by a series of short responses from leading scholars in her field.
