Now that the UK has voted to leave the EU what will happen next? Brexit will affect everyone, including students.

The Education Select Committee are running an inquiry into the impact of Brexit on higher education and want students and universities to get involved.

They are asking university students to run parallel inquiries and report their findings to the Committee in writing. An inquiry is only as good as the people who get involved. You can submit evidence directly to the Committee, but this is your chance to inform them in a different way. 

The reports submitted to the Committee will be considered and acknowledged by the Education Select Committee in their final report. The deadline for student reports to reach the Committee is Wednesday 18 January 2017.

Parliament will arrange a visit from a Committee Clerk or MP to discuss the Brexit and HE inquiry and the final report.

There are fears that Britains withdrawal from the European Union will have a negative impact on higher education. Concerns range from being able to attract the brightest students from across Europe to making sure UK universities maintain their places among the worlds best.

The Education Committee is keen to hear from students and others, as we examine the opportunities for higher education post-Brexit and consider what the Governments priorities should be for the sector going into the negotiations with the EU.
