The UKs relations with Hong Kong: 30 years after the Joint Declaration

This is the final evidence session for the Committee’s inquiry into the UK’s relations with Hong Kong: 30 years after the Joint Declaration. It follows four formal evidence sessions held in Parliament, as well as three sessions held via video-link with witnesses in Hong Kong.

In the first panel, the Committee will hear from two representatives of the Hong Kong Association in London, Lord Powell of Bayswater and Sir Anthony Galsworthy. In today’s second panel, the Committee will question Minister of State Hugo Swire on the FCO’s handling of the UK’s relations with Hong Kong, including its position on constitutional reforms and response to recent events.
