On Tuesday 6 May at 2.30pm in the Thatcher Room, Portcullis House, the Foreign Affairs Committee will be holding its first evidence session on UK Government policy on the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
The Committee will be hearing from two academic witnesses on Iraq and Kurdistan, followed by an expert on energy policy in Iraq and the wider Middle East. Among issues likely to be discussed are the difficult relationship between the federal and Kurdish governments in Iraq, the Kurdistan region’s move towards energy self-sufficiency in the face of hostility from Baghdad, and the UK bilateral and business relationship with the Kurdistan region.
