The Political Studies Association is proud to announce that two of its members have been awarded the honour of Academician by the Academy of Social Sciences. Professor Anne Phillips (London School of Economics) and Professor Fiona Mackay (University of Edinburgh) were put forward by the Association. The honour reflects the significant contribution both have made to our discipline.

Professor Mackay, on hearing about her award, said: “Thats wonderful news. Thanks so much to PSA for its support and recognition- very much appreciated!”. 

The award was also conferred on Paul Evans, Principal Clerk of the Table Office at House of Commons. The PSA has collaborated with Paul on past projects and we are delighted to see his good work, with regards to engagement with social scientists, recognised. 

The Academy welcomed 35 eminent social scientists into membership as Academicians. The full list can be viewed here.
