Political Studies Association agrees new publishing partnership with Sage Publishing

The Political Studies Association (PSA) is pleased to announce that it has agreed a new five-year partnership with the market-leading SAGE Publishing, starting in 2021.

This means that we will continue to work together on our suite of international journals: Political Studies, Politics, Political Studies Review and the British Journal of Politics and International Relations as well as our quarterly magazine, Political Insight.

This contract puts the PSA on a sound financial footing, enables us to remain a leading learned society in the UK and provides our members with a number of benefits including:

Helping to raise the profile and impact of the PSA and its journals internationally
Sponsorship of the annual PSA awards, academic prizes and annual international conference
A contribution to our Diverse Voices Scholarship fund
Online access to 29 other journals, the Adam Matthew Archives, books and reference works via SAGE knowledge and the CQ Press library. For more information on these and the journals, please see here.

The PSA’s Chair Professor Angelia Wilson said: We are delighted to be continuing our fruitful partnership with SAGE Publishing. Our collaboration over the past five years has seen our journals go from strength to strength. Now, this contract both secures the financial future for the PSA and enables us to have a steady ship despite the choppy waters of academic publishing. In addition, working closely with SAGE, the PSA has pledged to reduce our environmental impact with fewer printed journals and encouraging online readership. We appreciate the support SAGE has shown to the Diverse Voices Scholarship Fund and expect this to have a lasting impact on inclusivity in the profession.
