On 27 November, the PSA launched the Diverse Voices Doctoral Scholarship Fund as an investment in the future of Political Studies.

As we often argue, our democratic representatives should reflect the diversity of the population; so should the profession of Political Studies academics. Right now the PSA is overwhelmingly white (86% of academic members), predominantly male, and usually from a middle class background. We need your help to change this. We are committing ourselves to reaching out and welcoming diverse voices into the field of Political Studies. We are launching our new campaign to encourage and provide financial support for students from a variety of backgrounds and identities to gain a doctorate in Politics. We believe that academia is stronger when diverse voices are researching politics, articulating political values and teaching the next generation that politics has space for everyone.

With your help, the PSA needs to raise £250,000 to begin awarding our first scholarships. Whether you can give £5k or run 5K, here’s how you can share your gifts, time or talents.
