The Political Studies Association was established in 1950 and exists to develop and promote the study of politics. In recent years the PSA has adopted an explicit reform agenda that has attempted to drive the principles of ambition, professionalism, equality and visibility into every area of activity. It has also introduced a range of new initiatives, such as the Annual Assembly and the Chair’s Commissions, which have been designed to open-up participation and engagement within the organisation.
The PSA is committed to adopting a new Equality and Diversity Strategy that focuses on the full educational pipeline and seeks to promote a diverse understanding of the study of politics to all members of society and then to support them through the student experience and professional career structure.
The Executive Committee are now keen to receive applications from senior figures within the discipline who are willing to support this reform agenda into its next phase as Chair or Vice Chair.
