The Political Studies Association exists to develop and promote the study of politics. Founded in 1950, we are the leading organisation in the UK linking academics in political science and current affairs, theorists and practitioners, policy-makers, journalists, researchers and students in higher education. With an active membership of over 1800, we are uniquely placed to ensure that the views and concerns of the political studies community are heard and acted upon by all those organisations, such as HEFCE, the ESRC and the AHRC, that make decisions on such critically important issues for the discipline as research funding, peer review and doctoral training.
