The Foreign Affairs Committee today publishes a recent response from the Foreign Secretary to a letter from the Chairman of the Committee sent on 20 March. The Chairman’s letter had sought information on the UK Government’s view that the Syrian crisis potentially poses a threat to UK security, and on the legal basis for any decision to supply arms to the Syrian Opposition. The Chairman’s letter also underlined the importance of keeping Parliament fully informed on any developments in the Government’s policy and actions in relation to the crisis.
