We are hoping to award the 2022 scholarships by July with a view to supporting the scholars during 2022/23 academic year.
Discussing these scholarships, the PSA’s EDI Trustee Dr Roula Nezi said: “We know that black and other ethnic minorities are under-represented in our discipline at all levels. And while the barrier to addressing this inequality is largely structural, we also know that making students feel welcome and supported can make the difference when it comes to them completing their studies, establishing a career-related to Politics and creating the change we need to see both within and outside of academia.”
The PSA’s Chair Professor Roger Awan-Scully added: “Promoting and achieving equality and diversity in Political Studies is a core value of the PSA. As an association, we are both uniquely positioned to champion change and committed to taking positive action such as these Diverse Voices scholarships. We would strongly encourage you to apply or to support your students or colleagues to do so.”
If you would like to learn more or are interested in becoming a mentor for the Diverse Voices Scholars please contact Roula or Roger at diversevoices@psa.ac.uk
These scholarships are possible due to the PSA’s Diverse Voices Fund. The bigger the fund, the more support we can give so if you are interested in championing Diverse Voices or making a donation, please see here for more details on how.
