FAC to hold public evidence session - inquiry into the UK's policy towards Iran
ANNOUNCEMENT OF EVIDENCE SESSION
TO BE HELD IN PUBLIC
UK policy towards Iran
Tuesday 21 January 2014
2.30pm, Grimond Room, Portcullis House
This is the first evidence session for the Committee’s inquiry into UK policy towards Iran, building upon the one-off session held by the Committee on 5 February last year on Iran’s nuclear programme. This inquiry will look at the UK’s role in the negotiations which led to the Joint Plan of Action agreed in Geneva in November 2013, but it is also expected to look more widely at how the UK engages with Iran’s foreign policy and its approach to normalising the diplomatic relationship between the two countries.
Witnesses
At 2.30pm - Sir Robert Cooper KCMG, Visiting Professor, London School of Economics, IDEAS Centre
At 3.50pm - Professor Ali Ansari, Director, Institute for Iranian Studies, University of St Andrews
