The Korean PSA annual conference will be held 10-11 October 2014 at the Plaza Hotel in Seoul.

The theme is ‘The 20th Anniversary of the Geneva-agreed Framework: Theories and Strategies for the New North Korea Policy’. Korean PSA are looking for presenters for English-language sessions on topics such as: the inter-Korean relationship, international relations surrounding the Korean peninsula, power shifts in international relations with implication for Northeast Asia, prospects for regional conflict and cooperation in East Asia.

KPSA will cover conference registration fees, 3 or 4 nights at the hotel, and some local hospitality. The two PSAs can help with co-funding of airfares.

KPSA is an excellent host, and PSA ‘exchangers’ have greatly benefited from presenting their research at previous annual conferences.

KPSA and PSA UK will similarly sponsor presenters at the 5th World Congress of Korean Politics and Society in late August 2014. Participants can present work on any subject relevant to Korean studies. The Congress will be held at Kyoung-ju, an ancient capital city.

PSA members interested in either meeting should send a paper title, abstract and brief CV by email to Terrell Carver (t.carver@bristol.ac.uk) as soon as possible. Note that these arrangements are independent of the ‘Overseas Conference Grants’ scheme, which is separately managed and budgeted.
