Prof. Victoria Honeyman, University of Leeds

One of the joys of my career has been watching as the status of learning and teaching has increased in UK higher education, and across the world, over the last decade. As someone who is deeply committed to learning and teaching, and recognises the transformative impact which a great university education can have on individuals, being able to contribute to that increasing status of learning and teaching is amazing.

As a member of the Teaching & Learning Network (TLN) - as all PSA academic members are - I enjoyed meeting with others who shared my own fascination and preoccupation with learning and teaching. As Co-Chair, I had the joy of working with Professor Cathy Elliott (UCL) and Dr Adrian Millican (Durham) alongside the PSA leadership and other members of the PSA team.

These friendships and relationships made my time as Co-Chair fantastic. The wider TLN Network are incredibly friendly, helpful and supportive. Meeting with fellow members always invigorates me in my own teaching, and leadership, and the sharing of great ideas and ways of working is a joy of the network.

With that in mind, I would encourage all members of the network to engage with the TLN more extensively and, of course, with the new leadership. I am absolutely sure that the new network leads will do an amazing job and I wish them all the best in building on the network’s existing work, making our teaching and learning better for both students and academics.
