The Political Studies Association (PSA) is delighted to announce the new editorial team for its flagship journal Political Studies.

From 1 July 2023, Political Studies will be edited by an impressive team at the University of York, led by editors: Professor Monica Brito Vieira, Professor Graeme Davies, Professor Daphne Halikiopoulou and Professor Sarah Shair-Rosenfield. The new team said:

We are enormously grateful for the opportunity to shape the future of the journal and advance its reputation internationally. Thanks to the tremendous work carried out by the current editorial team, Political Studies has extended its audiences and cemented its standing as a leading journal in the field. We will remain true to this legacy and to the journal's pluralistic approach. Our vision is to make Political Studies even more international, diverse, and impactful by maximising the journal's global reach and significance. To ensure that it better reflects the diversity of the field, we are committed to fostering exchanges across gender, geographical, and career stage divides. Our success rests with the contributions of authors and reviewers alike, and we are excited to begin working with all of you in our new roles!”

The selection process was led by Professor Claire Dunlop during her time as PSA Vice-Chair and Publications lead. She welcomed the new team saying:

We are truly excited by the York team’s experience and intellectual vision for the journal, and their deep commitment to diversification for the academy. We know Political Studies – the PSA’s oldest journal – will be in safe and dynamic hands and look forward to the next chapter. We also extend massive thanks to the outgoing editors from the University of Sheffield and Universidad Torcuato di Tella – Andrew Hindmoor, Matt Sleat, Charles Pattie and Hayley Stevenson – who have made incredible contributions to our academic community as custodians of the journal over the past six years”.

Senior Publishing Editor from SAGE Publishing, James Skelding Tattle added:

All of us at Sage are very excited to be working with the new editorial team of Political Studies and look forward to this next chapter in the life of the PSA’s flagship journal. We also extend our thanks and admiration to the outgoing team for their remarkable contributions to the journal and the wider research community.”
