Do you feel that the current election polls are ignoring certain key issues? The PSA, in partnership with EPOP, are offering members a chance to have a question of their choice surveyed by political pollsters at YouGov!

PSA Members are invited to submit questions surrounding relevant election issues that they believe are not on the current agenda. In the run-up to the election, the PSA and EPOP will provide funding for YouGov to run five polls based on the questions that you, our members, submit. We hope that this exercise has the potential to raise the profile of political science during the General Election. The perfect question might be amusing, perhaps even controversial but regarding an issue which can ultimately provoke a serious debate.

If your question is chosen to be polled by YouGov, you will be asked to write an article for the PSA Blog based on the results of the poll (just as Professor Phil Cowley did with his own YouGov survey here) and we will be approaching other top political blogs to consider cross-posting. We will also disseminate the results of the polls to the media in order to maximise publicity.

To be in with a chance of having your question put to the public, please e-mail the PSA Communications Officer Jamie Ralph with your question (using the subject ‘YouGov Competition’) before Friday 27th of March at 5pm.

The PSA’s Communications and Engagement sub-committee will choose the top five questions from all entries received which will be then forwarded to pollsters at YouGov. Please note that YouGov reserves the right to finesse question wording.
