Nominations open for Jo Cox Prize for Public Service and Active Citizenship
28 June 2017
As part of the PSA Awards 2017, the PSA is pleased to announce the launch of a new annual prize named in honour of Jo Cox: the Jo Cox Prize for Public Service and Active Citizenship. The prize is dedicated to the memory of Jo Cox, Member of Parliament for Batley and Spen, who died on 16 June 2016, and her campaigning spirit as a first term parliamentarian and humanitarian activist.
The establishment of this prize is integral to the PSA’s commitment to support early career Politics academics and will acknowledge individuals that have delivered impact by working closely with policymakers and/or wider society for the ‘public good’.
The PSA Annual Awards 2017 - our sixteenth - is an occasion to recognise the individuals and organisations that are shaping yet another lively and unpredictable year in politics. PSA members are invited to submit nominations and now is a timely opportunity to have your say, as we continue to assess the political landscape following the recent UK General Election.
How To Submit Nominations:
· Details of all the awards categories, rules and criteria are included in the downloadable nominations form available via the PSA Awards page.
· Nomination forms should be returned via email to Avnish Patel by Friday 7 July.
· Please note however that the submission deadline for the Jo Cox Prize for Public Service and Active Citizenship has been extended until Friday 14 July.
