The Houses of Parliament offers a Higher Education module called ‘Parliamentary Studies’ which is delivered as part of a degree through a partnership between a university and the Houses of Parliament.  The module is co-taught by officials from the Houses of Parliament, and provides students with a detailed knowledge of how the institution of Parliament works.  This is the only Higher Education module formally approved by Parliament, and has the support of the Speaker of the House of Commons, the Lord Speaker and the management boards of both Houses.

13 universities are currently delivering ‘Parliamentary Studies’ in partnership with Parliament.  The programme is now expanding, and Parliament invites applications from any higher education institution in the UK to deliver the module from academic year 2015-16.  Application packs are available from Parliament’s Outreach Service, which give full information about the module itself, the application process and the application form.

The deadline for applications is Friday 7th November 2014.

For more information and/or an application pack, please contact Naomi Saint, Head of Universities Programme, Houses of Parliament on saintn@parliament.uk or 020 7219 0633.
