Dr Andy Mycock (Chief Policy Fellow, Y-Pern, University of Leeds) has now completed his term as the PSA’s Vice-Chair. We thank him for his service to association, in particular his drive, dedication and support for the study of Politics and our members. Happily, Andy will remain as a PSA Trustee and member of the Executive Committee until the end of his second term in June 2025.

The PSA Executive Committee has now approved a new Vice-Chair from its membership; Professor John Craig (Pro Vice-Chancellor for Education, Kingston University). John will now work to support PSA Chair Professor Rose Gann until the end of her term in April 2026.

John is a long-serving and active member of the PSA and brings a wealth of academic and professional skills to the role of PSA Vice-Chair, most notably as the lead of the PSA’s Teaching and Learning Network for many years and as a PSA Trustee and Honorary Secretary. We wish John well in his new role.

On this announcement, Rose Gann, PSA Chair, said: "I would like to thank Andy for his enormously helpful work as Vice-Chair especially engaging PSA members and networks in initial discussions on our new strategic plan. I am delighted that John Craig will now be taking on the Vice-Chair role - bringing his extensive experience of the PSA and the profession to assist the association as we put this new direction into action."

We thank our dedicated trustees for their thoughtful participation in the appointment process to ensure the leadership and governance of the PSA remains in a strong position as we approach our 75th anniversary.

The PSA will be seeking nominations in January, from our membership, to take up trustee positions later in 2025.
