PSA CHAMPIONING HUMAN RIGHTS THROUGH EDI
At the core of PSA’s activities is a profound respect and value for every individual, regardless of ethnicity, gender, age, language, beliefs, or other characteristics. We recognise that beyond perceived differences, there are countless ways in which we are interconnected, and in our diversity lies our strength. By fostering inclusivity and supporting underrepresented voices, we uphold the principles of equality and justice that underpin both human rights and academic excellence.
As we continue to reflect on the vital role of educational institutions in advancing human rights by integrating these values in its curriculum, culture and environment. As the home of political studies, we are committed to advocating for a more diverse and inclusive discipline through various initiatives such as our Women and Politics Group, which provides mentoring support to women in early and mid-career stages, and our Diverse Voices Programme, which mentors and empowers historically marginalised PhD students in Politics and International Relations in the UK. With our new strategy due to be launched next year, we look forward to building on this important legacy and strengthening our commitment to championing EDI and human rights.
