The Political Studies Association offers its full support to its members undertaking strike action to protest against changes to the Universities Superannuation Scheme.

These changes are an act of bad faith and penalise those who have contributed to the pension fund throughout their career. Our members work extremely hard and often go above and beyond to support students' learning.

Independent evidence demonstrates that these cuts are not financially necessary. These measures have the potential to damage morale in the sector and to discourage the brightest and most dedicated minds from entering or remaining in the academic profession, including the discipline of political studies.
