The Political Studies Association is again inviting nominations for its Political Image of the Year award. Shortlisted images will be displayed at the PSA Awards Ceremony, hosted by Jon Snow of Channel 4 News, on 5 December at Church House, Westminster, with the winner being decided by a guest vote. 
The Award recognises a photographer or photojournalist that has captured an issue, event or individual(s) in a skilful and visually powerful, evocative or humorous way. 
PSA Members are invited to submit photos that have appeared in the UK media during the past year which fit this criteria. Nominations will be accepted via social media (@PolStudiesAssoc and or by email ( until Friday 20 October. For Twitter and Facebook please use the hashtag #PoliticalImage2017
Please note:
  • Members do not need to seek a photographer’s permission before submitting an image or images; the PSA will seek permission from copyright owners before putting images forward for voting at the PSA Awards Ceremony.

  • When submitting images please include the name of the photographer, publication details and date of publication.

  • Cartoons are not eligible for this awards.

  • Images can be submitted in any size or format. If submitting on social media please use the hashtag #PoliticalImage2017.
