To mark the 20th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement, the Political Studies Association teamed up with a range of academics to examine it’s legacy. Each academic was given 20 seconds to give their opinion on the agreement and its aftermath. 

In this video, Dr Martin McCleery says for all its weaknesses the Good Friday Agreement has stopped the violence in Belfast.

Dr Martin McCleery is a lecturer on Intelligence Studies in the School of Politics at Cardiff University. His main academic interests focus on the Northern Ireland Conflict, Modern Irish and British Political History, Intelligence Studies, Terrorism and Sociology.
