The American Politics Specialist Group is organizing an event on November 22nd at The British Library. Full details will be provided soon, but it promises to be an engaging event for those interested in contemporary political issues.

The APG/BAAS annual colloquium will be held at the British Library on Friday, November 22nd, 2024. The event will run from 12.30 to 6.00 and will be headlined by Professor Lisa McGirr (Harvard), whose keynote address will be titled  “The Twentieth Century U.S. Right and the Origins of Trumpism”

In addition to this, there will be a roundtable discussion titled “The 2024 Presidential Election.”

We will also be conducting a prize giving ceremony for the winners of our postgraduate travel awards, and the 2023 Richard E. Neustadt book prize.

Finally, there will be an opportunity for attendees to question two former Members of Congress who will be speaking as part of the Congress to Campus programme. We’re delighted that Alex Waddan (Leicester) will be returning to chair the Q&A session with two Former Members of Congress. The Former Members of Congress are:
