From Paper to Publication

PSA YOUNG PEOPLE'S POLITICS WORKSHOP ONLINE IN SEPTEMBER 2021 'FROM PAPER TO PUBLICATION'

We are organising another "From Paper to Publication" workshop to be held on 24 September 2021 - online.

We are delighted to put out this call for abstracts for our first ever academic workshop to be held in 24 September 2021.

AIM:
This event aims to bring together scholars with a broad interest in innovative and pluralistic research in the field of young people and politics. The event will last for a full day and will allow scholars at all stages of their career to put their latest work through rapid and intensive review by like-minded experts.

The purpose of the event is to provide constructive support to one another in order that collectively our members are able to (a) produce the best research possible and (b) successfully navigate the landscape of high quality publishing in our field. If successful, we hope that this event will become a regular feature of the YPP calendar.

TOPIC:

This is an open call, so we welcome pieces relating to any aspect of young people's politics and engagement, encouraging a plurality of methods, approaches, geographical locations, types of engagement etc.

HOW TO APPLY:

If you are interested in participating in this event, please send an abstract of no more than 250 words to the YPP committee by 25th June 2021. All abstracts will be reviewed and successful applicants will be duly notified. We welcome and encourage submissions from scholars at all stages of their carers and from a wide range of backgrounds.

REQUIREMENTS:

Please note that you will be required to produce a full draft of a journal article, book or thesis chapter, or grant application (case for support) to be sent to the other workshop participants sufficiently in advance of the workshop (approx 3-4 weeks). We guarantee that successful submissions will each receive 1 hour of intensive feedback and discussion.

LOCATION:

Probably online.

ELIGIBILITY:

Please note that this call is only open to members of the Young People’s Politics Specialist group. If you are a PSA member you can easily join the group by logging in or creating an account at the PSA website and request to become a member of our group. If you are not a PSA member, but would like to be a member of our specialist group, send an email to the conveners and we will add you to the group.

We look forward to receiving your abstracts!
