PSA ECN PhD and Early Career Half-Day Workshop on Climate and Environmental Politics

Organised in collaboration with the Environmental Politics Specialist Group.

With COP27 taking place in Egypt this year and environmental protest bubbling across the globe, the conversation about environmental and climate politics is undoubtedly bursting with dynamism. This half-day online workshop proposes to dive deeper into some of the key problematics being addressed by current early career research on this area. Whether you’re working on climate reparations, environmental protest, or green capitalism, this workshop is for you! Any and every topic addressing climate and environmental politics is welcome.

Registrations have now closed for this workshop. We are looking to provide further opportunities like this in the future, so do keep an eye out for any announcements.

The PSA Early Career Network is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a half-day online workshop for PhD and early career researchers on the theme of climate and environmental politics, with space for four participants and four workshop convenors. This is an excellent chance to put your work through a friendly, informal peer review; to practice giving constructive feedback to your peers on their work; and to make vital connections with other researchers working on similar themes to you.

Participants will submit and receive feedback on a not-yet-published journal article, book/thesis chapter, or grant application which is on or related to environmental politics. This is an excellent opportunity to receive informal peer review on a piece of work that you may be looking to publish, weave into your final thesis, or put forward in a grant application.

Participants will be required to submit a full draft of the work they wish to receive comments on by February 1st 2023. This is to give enough time for everybody to read each paper and prepare comments. Please note that all of the workshop convenors and all of the participants will comment on all of the papers submitted at the event.

The event will run between 9.15am and 2.45pm UK time to allow for all comments. We welcome and encourage submissions from early career and PhD researchers from a wide range of backgrounds.
