“Random Access Memories” (#RAM21)

The ECN’s international annual conference for early career scholars.

Building upon the highly acclaimed #BecauseTheInternet conference in 2020, the PSA’s Early Career Network is delighted to announce a call for papers for their second international virtual conference. This July 5th-9th, Random Access Memories (#RAM21) will showcase early career scholars’ (PhD students and 3-years post viva) research from around the world and providing a forum for the presentation and discussion of research, with feedback from peers and experienced discussants alike. The conference is free to attend (although donations are welcome).

To find out more, please visit the conference website at https://ram.psaecn.co.uk/.

Deadlines for applications is the 15th May. Please also forward this to anyone you think would be relevant, such as your PhD students!

Logistics

We will be hosting the virtual conference via the content delivery approach (which you can read more about here). Each panel will be hosted on its section of the conference website, with presenters providing a video presentation (around 15 minutes) alongside their papers. On each page will be comment sections where people will be able to give feedback or ask additional questions - and where presenters can respond! Each panel will be assigned a seasoned discussant with expertise in the panel’s subject area, providing participants with experienced feedback alongside those of your peers. Your paper will also have a chance at winning a prize. In addition, panellists will have the opportunity to link up in private sessions and discuss their paper in depth with others – a fantastic vehicle for international networking and even collaboration.

Alongside this, we will also be hosting a range of live events including a keynote lecture, advice sessions, and our famous virtual pub quiz!
