American Politics Group of the UK Political Studies Association 49th Annual Conference, 5th – 7th January 2023, University of Leicester
Call for Papers

The 49th annual conference of the American Politics Group of the UK Political Studies Association will be held at the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom from Thursday 5th to Saturday 7th January 2023.

The conference will be in-person at College Court, a few minutes walk from the University’s main campus. On-line presentations will be possible.

The APG invites proposals on any aspect of American politics. Papers or panel proposals examining contemporary US political institutions or processes, foreign policy issues or political history are welcome. The conference organisers would also welcome papers addressing comparative themes or relevant theoretical or methodological issues.

Previous conferences have had a strong postgraduate presence and we especially encourage young scholars to present their work.

  • If you are interested in presenting a paper, please send a title and abstract to Dr Alex Waddan at aw148@leicester.ac.uk by 20 November 2023.

  • Proposals should be around 150 words for single papers and 300 words for panels. Please note that proposals for all-male panels should be avoided.

The APG is the leading scholarly association for the study of US politics in the UK and also has members in continental Europe and the USA. Follow us on:
