We are delighted to announce the winner of our annual Student Blog Competition in which students, aged 16-19 in full time secondary education, were invited to submit a blog of maximum 600 words on the subject: How do we need to reform our political system to tackle the UK’s challenges?
Our congratulations go this year’s winner: Isaac Stark from Highgate Wood Sixth Form.
The winning entry, and two runners-up, were chosen by our panel of judges: Stephen Bush, Associate Editor and columnist, Financial Times; Michelle Doyle-Wildman, CEO, Political Studies Association; Matteo Bergamini, CEO and founder of Shout Out UK and Liz Moorse, CEO, Association for Citizenship Teaching.
The judges were impressed with the standard and the range of well thought out ideas evident in the blogs submitted for this year’s competition, and we would like to thank all the students who took the time to submit their blog.
As well as featuring on the PSA website, Isaac’s blog will also be published online by the Financial Times, our partners in this competition, and printed in a future edition of the PSA’s magazine Political Insight.
We also congratulate the two worthy runners-up: Bethany Watson from Torquay Girls’ Grammar School and Erin Grant from Guildford High School.
The winner, and two runners-up, were announced at a virtual event, on 29 June, chaired by Andrew Jack, Global Education Editor, Financial Times. Our thanks also go to the Association of Citizenship Teaching who supported this competition.
