Nominations now closed for WJM Mackenzie Book Prize 2023/24
Now entering its 37th year, the prestigious PSA WJM Mackenzie Prize is awarded annually to the best book published in political science.
Last year’s winner was Democratic Design by Prof. Michael Saward. (Find the book here)
Nominations were open to publishers, PSA Specialist Groups, heads of department and by self-nomination from PSA members (supported by three additional PSA members).
Nominations were submitted digitally in the first instance, using the nomination form provided and accompanied by a one-page supporting statement. Applicants, or their representatives, are required to submit at least four physical copies along with a digital version of their nominated title once nominations close.
Supporting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in our discipline is a key strategic priority for the PSA. Therefore, we particularly welcomed nominations from women, and from black and minority ethnic authors.
The winner will be announced during the PSA’s Annual International Conference, taking place in Glasgow from 25 to 27 March 2024, in partnership with the University of Strathclyde.
The deadline for nominations was 3 September 2023 (17:00 BST).
