ECN Welcome Event - Resilience • Perseverance • Impact

Highlighting Success Stories in Academia

The PSA Early Career Network Committee warmly invites you to our first event of the new term: an online roundtable on Thursday 20 November, 12 to 1pm!

“Resilience, Perseverance, Impact: Highlighting Success Stories in Academia"

At a time of shifting geopolitical landscapes and pressures across institutions, how we conduct and disseminate our research is changing. How might this impact the undertaking of PhD studies? How can academic researchers adapt? What new challenges, and opportunities, are there for research impact?

We will explore these questions in our roundtable discussion with ECN Chair Angeliki Martinou, Dr. James Halstead, and Dr. Antonia Vaughan.

Drawing on their own experiences, our roundtable panellists will examine how to navigate challenges and current/future academic trends, and discuss the key skills and approaches needed to succeed in today's research landscape.

They will explore the evolving landscape of doctoral research through a comparative lens, focusing on the US, UK, and broader Anglosphere. And they’ll examine the funding challenges and institutional pressures facing PhD Candidates and Early Career Researchers today, contrasting them with past, present, and future trends.

Registered attendees will receive the Zoom joining information by email.
