This is a FREE afternoon workshop organised and hosted by the Political Studies Association’s Early Career Network. It is targeted towards Politics ECRs and PhDs but open and free to all who are members of the PSA ECN.
Workshop: The article publishing process
Led by Dr Natalie Jester (University of Gloucestershire)
Join us for a workshop that explores two different perspectives on the article publishing process to help you get your work into journals: the perspective of the editor/reviewer and the perspective of the author.
What do editors and reviewers look for? How does the article submission process work? How do I respond to reviewer comments?
This workshop will give you a 'behind the scenes' look at publishing and demystify the process for you!
You don't have to prepare anything in advance for this workshop. Just come along! There will be plenty of time to ask about things you've always wanted to know about publishing but may never have had the chance to ask.
The event will be held online via Zoom and is free and open to all ECN members, though registration via the Eventbrite page is required. The event is £5 for non PSA ECN members.
This workshop forms part of the Political Studies Association Early Career Network’s ‘Publication Pipeline’ which aims to support ECRs to equip themselves with the skills and knowledge to secure a publication. There is still much work to be done to make academia more inclusive. In our commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the discipline, this workshop aims to widen access to conferences and publication by bolstering the skills of ECRs and removing barriers to much of the ‘unspoken’ knowledge we need to participate. We encourage participation from scholars of all backgrounds based in any location.
